Dentico interviews their trusty dental assistants Asenathi Zakade and Nasiphi Venevene, who provide play important supportive roles when seeing patients at our practice.
TELL US ABOUT MORE ABOUT YOU
Nasiphi: Besides being a dental assistant, I am a 32-year old mother. My family is originally from the Eastern Cape, but I was born in Johannesburg and moved to Cape Town at a young age. I attended Umangaliso Primary in Khayelitsha and Zisukhanyo High School in Samora Machel. I then studied my Dental Assisting at CPUT in 2019.
Asenathi: The Dentico family calls me Assie. I’m a young and vibrant girl from Khayelitsha. I was born and raised in Cape Town, but my family is originally from the Eastern Cape. I did my schooling at Caradale Primary in Mitchells Plain and Groenvlei High School in Lansdowne, before furthering my education at CPUT, where I studied Dental Assisting in 2019.
HOW DID YOU JOIN THE DENTICO TEAM?
Nasiphi: When I qualified, it was very difficult to find work. I eventually found out about a dental assistant vacancy at Dentico, and decided to apply. I helped out for a few months in 2022 before becoming a permanent employee. It was a very happy moment for me as I enjoy working here. I get along with the staff very well… in our own way, we are family. My co-workers are some of the kindest people you will find.
Asenathi: The opportunity to join the Dentico team came as a referral from my fellow dental assistant Nassie (Nasiphi). She recommended me to Dr Hendricks, when they needed extra help in 2022. I assisted the team for a few months before joining the team officially in 2023. I really love working here. Dentico provides a warm “homey” environment for staff and patients. I really enjoy being part of the Dentico team… who know me as the joker among the co-workers!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE JOB?
Nasiphi: My favorite part of the job is when a patient comes in very nervous and leaves the practice very happy and eager to come back because of the amazing service provided by our team. Dr Hendricks plays a big role in that… she sets the example and we draw inspiration from it. We strive to meet her high standards in everything we do.
Asenathi: My favourite part of my job is putting smiles on people’s faces and making their dental memories more pleasant and less scary. It’s about reassuring them that they are in good hands at Dentico. I draw a lot of inspiration from Dr Hendricks. She is our motivation… she makes us believe that we can achieve anything you put your heart in to. If your heart is in the right place, you will prosper. She started her business from a young age and it has flourished to something so big.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
Nasiphi: My goal is to grow with Dentico. I want to be able to do more than just dental assisting.
Asenathi: My career goals are to grow with Dentico and learn new and more things in the dental field.
